Are you positive that it's an LS6 cam and not an LS2? In 2004 both engines were available. The LS2 cam will not work in a GenIII engine due to lack of cam sensor pickup on the camshaft.

I'm not 100% positive, as I bought it from a member on this site. I'll look up the numbers and see what comes up.

That is the LS6...
I was just looking at it @ Summit, here's the link, specs same, part # same...

just wondering if that would be a good match w/ ProCharged 5.3L Ext. Cab and planned 3200 stall...

Thanks for checking on that for me. I wanted to go with the LS6 cam for the driveability and for it bein a third the price of any aftermarket cam. I'm sure there are cams that may be better suited for a supercharged application, but this one will no doubtedly rock with that combo... and still have a nice idle.

That's a bargain. If someone's thinking of getting a cam, that's one I'd buy to stay sane and keep good fuel mileage.

Greg, last i heard the ls2 cam was the same as the '01 ls6. They changed the ls6 cam in '02 to the one being sold here.

That cam in summit is also a bit different, the duration is the same, but its a .551/.541 and a 117.5 lsa.

Yeah, that's a good safe cam. I may be losing HP in my truck due to the cam and only having stock exhaust. Too much cam and not enough exhaust seems to be a waste. It rocks nice but doesn't perform like a truck with a .610 lift with 234 duration. Not good matching parts right now for me, too much cam and not enough exhaust. I probably would have been better off with a cam such as the LS6 especially now that I have the LS6 243 casting heads.
