Yeah, what custom68 said...What did you start with? There are two sized ports coming off the top rear of my Sanden 508...one smaller than the other. What sizes do they call them? Does the larger size go directly to the accumalator, which also has the larger size port on it? Does this line need a service port plumbed into it? Then does the smaller port exiting the firewall go directly to the condenser thats forward of the radiator? Which port on the condenser, top or bottom, or does it even matter? Then a line returning from the condenser to the small port on the Sanden compressor? Does this line also need a service port? I'm at the A/C & exhaust stage & need input. Thanks in advance. Gar

    Hi,

My truck was able to keep the stock compressor when I had my 93 converted to the LS1 this past spring. The brackets were custom made by the shop doing the work. It was nice and clean and saved about 400.00

    Take care.

How about taking some pictures of the install of the compressor so we can see how they did it, please.

Yep. I'll have to get these for you because you can't see this very well in the pics I posted at http://forum.ls1truck.com/index.php?showtopic=3856 I'll try to get one with the air filter up and out of the way. You can't see this very well, its just kind of peaking out from under the airfilter.

Yeah, it's hidden pretty good up under there. BTW, do you not have a clamp holding the air filter onto the MAF?

I have to say I am not happy with the S&P A/C bracket. I started to crack a few months back and is now broke and I doubt they will replace it. Maybe I got a defective one or its not made for higher HP. I will have a better solution and figure out the header situation B4 my 408 goes in.

If they don't stand behind their product be sure you let them know that you will be posting their poor quality on the website. They cannot take the negative publicity. For what you paid for those brackets I'd be pissed, too. I had a set but never had the opportunity to have a problem with the brackets.

OK.. Gotta admit, I'm proud of one of them, cause it shows a partial of the AFR heads I have - you can see the part number plainly "#1510". Download them and I think they should be larger and you can see better. Okay, so it does show you that I did not buy ARP bolts....hey not every detail was thought of.

The A/C mount bracket is basically shaped like a tire, cut in half so it wraps around the A/C. It has a couple of metal mounting brackets which screw into the radiator inake mount (14.jpg and 15.jpg show this pretty well).

16.jpg shows the top of the A/C mount.

17.jpg is just a general picture of the whole area as viewed from the top

18.jpg shows how the A/C rests in the bracket and is bolted from either side.

19.jpg I think is the best pick since it shows the bottom rear of the A/C. Notice this part bolts to the back of the A/C, then on the left, you see the back of the bracket is mounted to the engine.
