Nope it had the ecoboost logo on the doors and plate bracket off to the one side. 100% sure it was an Ecoboost, you could tell by the sound it wasn't a V8 and it surely wasn't a stock 3.7 V6

U mentioned knowing it was an ecoboost by the plate tho no sound... i guess noone rocks a loud ecoboost around here or fast one at that, only seen them being grandpa'd.

w the licence plate bracket off to the side so I knew it was an Ecoboost.

    Pulled from ur post.

In my town you gotta be careful talking about how fast your truck is because about 60% of the old men around here have a 10 second car sitting in their garage collecting dust And they're not afraid to run you! There's an 80 year old man down the road from me that has a garage full of goodies and drives them like a 16 year old that just got a license and thinks he has to do a burn out at every stop sign.

I feel you there...my neighbors (we're talking all within sight of my house) have some crazy toys. One has a '96 vette, '04 GTO on spray and a '67 mustang with a whipple charged '03 cobra motor and a 4 link. His oldest brother has a 550hp 383 stroker in a RCSB chevy and 2 '98 TAs, one with spray and the other with a cam. Their middle brother has a '70 chevelle with a 496 BBC with Canfield heads and a solid roller cam AND he has a '98 vette with a procharged 6.0. Then their dad has 2 Grand Nationals, one has a forged stock cube motor with a single 76mm turbo putting down around 500 to the wheels and the other is a full on twin 76mm forged stroker motor that put over 1200hp to the wheels. Beat one of their rides and they'll bring out something else. I need to get my s10 finished so I can run with them.
    2005 Silverado SS AWD
AEM CAI, ARH LTs, HD-2 shift kit with vette servo, Circle D 278mm 3200 stall Madtunesracing.com street tune (MTR now has a Dynojet 248 chassis dyno)

    haha, pretty funny ^

seriously though, I think a lot of people posting up in here better watch out, those eco-boosts have much more potential than you probably realize. Just because your namebrand tunnel-vision loyalty can create some funny jokes, it sure isn't holding them back any.
Simply with a tune these things can run 13.1's consistently at FULL weight... And those loaded 4x4 F150's are no lightweights!
...just imagine with a couple fuel system upgrades and/or some bigger turbos! They do have fully forged bottom end straight from factory after all! So just watch your mouth or you might end up looking dumb when some guy on a ford forum posts up about his gm v8 truck kill.
    Shralp' it heavy.

A modded one might outrun me once.... But I have a button that says he won't ever do it again.

A 4.8 with twins from the factory would be sweet. But like you said, it'll probably never happen.

If GM wants to compete slap a couple turbo's on the 3.6L direct injected DOHC engine that's in the Camaro's. They're 312hp stock. Put a couple turbo's on that engine and it'd put the Ecoboost to the grave...
