Nice! I need one of those!
Leave it to gear heads to get pumped up over a tranny pan

GMCwantsLS1, do yourself a favor and look into getting it directly from LPW. The only eBay guy i could find who carried em' wasn't all that great to deal with.

LPW has an online order sheet and/or i guess you can just call them too.

Here's a couple more specifics after a little research:

The 4L60E Filtran filter provided w/ the kit is for 1997-up Corvette pans, the one that has the "sump" the middle.

Beginning in 1998 GM went to the "deep" pan for trucks/suvs/vans w/ the 4L60E; it is 2 7/8" deep. The "regular" is 2 1/4" deep. In 1998 they also introduced 2 new dipstick stop bracket designs to work with each pan, and also to accommodate a new chamfer on the VB. The bracket for the deep pan simply lets the dipstick go further into the pan. Thus, the "deep" pan from GM does not add any fluid capacity. 4L60E initial fill is 5 qt and total capacity is 11 qt, no matter if it's a 1995 Camaro or a 2004 1500 truck.

It's kind of interesting that GM went the trouble of introducing a "deep" 4L60E pan but didn't actually add fluid capacity vs. the "regular" one. Guess for standardized service procedures. The update handbook states they did it for "Improved fluid temperature control", which i guess it probably does to some degree

So, the deep part of the LPW is 3 5/8" deep making the LPW about 3/4" deeper, but the deep part is larger in square area than the OE version. Based on my "water test" I'm still estimating about 2 quarts additional capacity over the OE "deep" one.

    Hey Slamma,

That one looks as good as my B&M and about $70 cheaper. Only yours doesn't have
    B&M on it.

I wish you had found that and posted it earlier. Then the one the I bought wouldn't have had B&M on it either.

    Looks good,

Thanks gamitch! I thought it was a pretty good find and wanted to share the wealth. Too bad it wasn't a little sooner so you could have saved a few $$ The pan was the one high dollar item holding me up from my tranny work. I was about one day from just getting the B&M and found LPW by luck really. Better to be lucky than good sometimes...

LPW also makes a nice cap support cover that i'm thinking could really help out my weak ass 10-bolt 8.5" gears.
