I have spent a lot of time at this forumQuick tip: Dont use lead acid batteries. Find some decent priced LIPO batts.

I use a 18volt dewalt drill batteries to make my sons jeep power wheels fly. Our 12volt motor has lasted a long tome rinning on 18volt batteries.
