You can get SBC rods longer than 5.7
Heres one example of a low budget SBC rod that is 6.125..

And from looking at the pics the compression height is really tall on the piston which would indicate a shorter than 6.125 rod. This was the 408 right?

Those are SBC rods as jon was saying.
But if you google it, it is very common for people to run sbc rods in a lsx AS LONG AS the proper pistons and wristpins are used.
LS1tech ........We've used regular SBC Eagle rods even in many 1000 plus HP engines. The LS1 specific on center rod (625g) however is a medium weight and is probably not quite as strong as the normal heavier SBC rods (670g). Both can be used in an LS1 depending on setup and pistons. Tons of very reputable shops from World Products to Roush to Shafiroff use Eagle products every day.

Well the rod took the block out with it so I will have to get a new block and haha 450-500 flywheel hosepower on motor I made 384 through a 80 and a 3000 stall with 3.90's so I was prob pretty close to that on just the motor and then I was spraying 250 on top if that no wonder they let go but I guess it's time to go bigger

Yeah j think I'm going to build it this time the only reason I didn't the first time Is because I didn't have all the right tools, and now I do
