yea, i got to find some bearings, get some gaskets etc. first off and get the short block rolling.

I'll have to do some research but i think the genIII comp cam i have will work with a ls2 timming set and cover. If not just another reason to get a bigger cam lol

it has been sittin on a stand for awhile and he was going to just put new bearings and gaskets in it, along with all ARP stuff. He is a gm mechanic here locally so this motor was a warranty motor from gm. It had an issue with one of the valves got jacked up and screwed the head up, and tapped the one piston just a bit. So i have to get ahold of 1 head, but said piston is barley marked at all, so new bearings and gaskets and it should be good to go

Me my buddy that i bought these motors from worked as tech's at a gm dealership, He still does. And more less he just paid the core on them which was 200 on the 5.3 and 400 on the 6.2, which is what he sold them to me for

So this is how i picked everything up today. Everything nice and neat bagged and labeled. I have the oil pan and valley cover also, but the only thing i lack is 1 assembled head. Sorry for the crappy pics the only camera i had was my phone.

wow, the cam and pistons are unusual. Have never seen a cam with the 2nd bearing journal like that and the piston eyebrows on the intake side look wrong.
