    Nice thought, but I think they would have to be used with solid trans mounts... because this is primarily a plow & work truck, I was hoping to retain some flex in the driveline...

    Those mounts are no more solid than the stock cups are solid.

    I used the same mounts as you did on my swap and had to cut a section out to clear the block on the passenger side and had to use washers to clear the triangle part of the original mount if that makes sense.

    i just started putting a 5.3 in my 86 with those mounts, had to grind the tab, on the block, so the mounts would bolt up, once i took about 1/4 inch off it fit good.
    1987 jeep wrangler, 1999 LS 1, 4l60 231j transfercase, dana 30 frontend ford 8.8 rearend 3:73 gear ratio. sandersons shortie headers, 2.25 inch exhaust into 3 inch flowmaster muffler.

    i wouldnt grind on the block just trim the motor mount cup on the bottom to clear it, i had the same problem.
