The hood bolts up and so does the grille. The front frame horns will need to be cut off and re welded 1 1/4". then add your top bumper cap and bolt it up.[/QUOTE]

why does the frame need to be cut? for the bumper? or is it interference w/ the new grill?

I'm sorry about all the questions but I've never even seen a 2500hd up close

The frame has to be cut in order to lower the bumper so the bumper pad and grille fit

Yea the bumper pad and grill are bigger than the stock ones. So therefore you cut the frame and lower it to let it fit.

also if you see in the pics quick posted you have to trim a little of the aluminium under the headlight so the bumper will slide all the way back and bolt up the same. I see he trimmed his bumper also im sure that was easier but i just cut enough under the headlight to not have to cut the bumper.

Also the 2 bumper brackets towards the corners of the bumper i drilled 2 new holes in those and added a grade 8 bolt to hold it together since the original mounts are higher.

i put the HD grille in my 2000.. i wanted to keep my upper pad and didnt like the looks of my upper pad bein cut, so i cut about an inch and a half off of the lower portion of the grille. it looks tight imo..

......... I would think cutting the grille would look way worse than trimming up the pad(that is hardly noticeable)....... but to each his own i guess. just my two cents
