    Thanks again!

A friend of mine had his 93 truck trans (is a 93 a 4l60e or a 700r4?) for like ~650 and it was suppose to be a good, strong build. He only drove it for about 6 weeks before he sold it but he said it shifted very well. He had to pull and install the tranny himself.

I could do that, beef it up some, and get a stall and be like 1300 for a good rebuild and a nice stall.

I'll see how it goes I guess.
    Glad I could help.

'93 should be a about the last year of a 700-R4. At least it was in a Camaro I think. That's right around the crossover date.

    Keep us updated.

I will be sure to keep you guys updated... after all, you're my primary source of info here Hitman!

Alright, please tell me what you think of these three "complete rebuild kits."
    http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/customer/home.php?cat=22

Is it really a complete kit? If not, what else would I need?

Please tell me what you think about each of the kits (or whichever you think would be best for me).

One thing that stuck out was the part that said "under 5500 rpm." What is that about? I've got my shift points set @ 6000? Would I not be able to SAFELY rev to 6K in all gears with this rebuild kit?

    EDIT:
Tell me what you think about the price and the specs on this tranny please:

Well what happens over 5500rpm line pressure drops. So to prevent that you need a heavier pump output slide spring. I think that keeps pressure constant to like 7000rpm or something silly lol That comes in the HD2 TransGo kit, it's badass for what ya get. Also, those hardened pump rings are a plus too. I have a set.

I'd go for the Street/Strip one. Good frictions included for sure. I'd still add a billet OD servo for sure and those lil Sonnax bits I mentioned.

Still be certain to upgrade to the much stronger sun gear shell and reaction carrier shaft. Those are weak-sisters in the ol' 4L60E. lol

Also, there's a setup to make your stock input drum better...it's a retaining collar that goes around the splines of the input drum and a new clutch piston. It's like $40 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW That and a hardened/heat treated drum would rock. That drum sucks as it's aluminum and the shaft is steel. Good going GM

I took mine to Cottmans transmission and they did the diagnostics for me and then I did the work. They don't charge anything for the diagnostics, they just hope you bring it back to them for rebuild.

heavier pump output slide spring? Is that the exact phrase I should search for?

Also, what about the complete tranny I linked to?

Thanks a lot for the help man! I'm sure you're saving me lots of headache down the road and money now!

I've got an extra pump slide output spring if you want it, it came with my hardened pump rings. lol It's just sitting in a bag in my garage.

The linked one seems like a nice setup for the money too, with a good warranty. How long have they been around?
