    Stupid Question. What is mine? 10 or 14

    10 bolt most likely. Crawl under there and count the number of bolts holding the rear cover on.

    the 14 bolt on my SSS is broke. still works but doesnt lock anymore. due to me loaning it to a friend and him spinning out of a grass field onto the road. but before hand it was a very strong g-80 lived 60k miles doing sick burnouts and workin like it should

    96 c1500, stock suspension, stock bottom end, 93 octane, street radial- 1.60 11.5 at 115- on the small stage-sold

    90 350ss... beast build

    Mine probly only lasted about 1k after putting the stout tranny that shifted hard ,supercharger ,and cam in .then i went through 4 more before i went to a 14 bolt.Again tho ,i put it too it all the time tho.weight is a USUAL contributing factor also ,ive heard the heavier ext cabs ,shatter them alot easier,and probly getting good traction could be an enemy,bangin second gearr with a good hard shift kit and biten caused mine to go a couple times, shattered ring and pinons .even after i installed the posi unit .food for thought .
    mods:2004 sierra ext sb,20s ,big brake kit w,hawk pads,air bagged,2006 6.0 lq4 swap,vortec supercharged10psi, air to water intercooled w/ dual electric fans on it ,snow meth injection kit,60lbers, e-fans ,big radiator swap ,cam 218 /222 548/550 comp .hardened prs .1.85 comp roller rockers ,guideplates ,crane double springs,trans 4l65e built .pacesetter l/ts true duals w/x pipe and magnaflows,14 bolt rearend swap ,3.73s,aroemotive fuel pump system w/elec.fuel controller and bypass regulator a/n fittings, taylor 10.5s interceptor gauge,aem w/b a/f ,autometer boost/vac NELSON 93 OCTANE TUNED .

    Yea mines the 14 bolt but it just dont like to spin both tires any more. some time in a straight line it will tho

    OK so did the 2wd SSs come with 14 bolt and the AWD SSs some with 10 bolt?

    welll the 2wd have to transfer all that neck snapping power to only one axle instead of two lol
