Sounds without a big cam and converter, probably doesn't help performance at all unless there is problematic issue with the rest of the exhaust and did I mention it sounds ....?

cutouts only sound kinda bad with stock/shorty headers. cam is only an idle thing, regardless open long tubes always sound badass.

Mine work great...but +1 on the low end power loss. Did I mention I picked up 40hp with them open vs closed on the dyno?

Is that cause your turbo'd that you saw such a big gain? Just curious

Not necessarily...first run (with turbo, cutout closed) was 400. Next one (turbo, cutout open) was 440. I'm told it's probably the restrictive Flowmaster. I'm switching to a Magnaflow...

if youre running dual exhaust i would not reccomend them, specially if its 3", i have every mod, imaginable and the cut outs killed not only low end but top end as well, specially on a 3" exhaust dualed out..i lost so much back pressure it wasnt funny, now if you have a stock system and wanna keep it stock and want more perfomance at the strip then the e-cut out will work great for ya, it does help the tq and the hp for gains. seen it proven on a dyno on both ends..

also for lowered trucks, make sure they are installed high enough cause i ripped one motor off lol.. but i can say this i hadnt had any leaks

    quik summed it pretty well!!!

some gain 2hp some gain 20, it all depens on location and how restrictive exhaust is.

a cutout will never ever give you lowend. its main goal is to free up the exhaust flow. 80% of ppl on the net buy them for sound which is stupid IMHO. also dont forget opening cutout can alter the current tune and cause it to run leaner then with it close or allow tune to run rich with exhaust capped. all depends on how it was tuned
I'm in agreement with all of that^^^^ I put up the numbers for comparison only. Those are my numbers on my truck for that particular set-up. The lure of quick hp is great but you've got to do your homework...

If you do get them, stay the hell away from QTP/Quicktime cutouts. I've had two of them fall apart on me within a month of installing them.

Sounds ok with stock cam, and shorty headers.
