Wow man, that's awful. I'd sure see about returning it and buying one from some place else. I hate cheap crap, like we have money to throw away on stuff with poor fit or finish.

yeah thats not right, i wouldnt even try to use that thing.
No Thats The Way Mine Was,no Matter If You Get Another One It Will Be Tha Same Believe Me,i Work At Oreillys,i Ordered Two To See.but Use The 3m And Spread Across Evenly On Top,it Will Work, just Clean Surface With Alcohol,my Lower Part Was Also Like That, what I Did,i Put To Tie Straps Or Zip Ties Around It,till It Looked Even, left Them There For About 2 Weeks.within Time It Will Get Its Shape Back.good Luck Bud...
Ive had OEM bumper skins look like this after they have sat in one position for a while, especially in warmer areas. It wouldnt at all suprise me if it straightened itself out with some double sided 3m tape as chevrolade said.
I am shipping the bumper cover back today. My paint and body guy looked at it yesterday morning and said that it was going to be VERY difficult to smooth and unpredictable with fluctuations in temperature. He has done three of these in the last year (mostly on the same front end Tahoe) and never had one look this bad out of the box. Thanks for all your info. I will post pictures when the new one gets here. Any advice on where to order from?

I would bet your actual bumper is aftermarket, I've installed one on OEM and aftermarket and it makes a HELL of a difference, unless you OEM one was bent and someone bent it inwards on the sides

I bought the truck new and the truck has never been wrecked, so the bumper is not a replacement.
Finally received the new SS bumper cover two days ago, did prefit and it had only one small "wave" in the top. Removed the grill and "c-clamped" a three foot 1"x4" to the top of the bumper cover for about two hours and it fits perfect. Took to my paint & body guy and he is going to begin installation first week in December.
Total changes at paint shop:
- Fit and paint the Generation VI SS bumper cover
- Paint and install 2001-2002 Silverado HD hood
- Relocate tailgate handle, weld-in filler plate, smooth tail gate and paint
- Paint/color-match the left/right rear view mirror covers
I will be adding:
- New chrome grill with billet inserts. Anybody know where I can get the billet insert for the lower center portion of the SS bumper cover?
- New chrome headlights and marker lights
- 2003-2006 fog lights in outside openings of SS bumper cover
- 2003-2006 rear tail-lights
- 2008 20" Silverado LTZ wheels
- Color matched (victory red) door handles
I will post pictures when done. Which leads me to this... Can someone tell me what is causing/why the pictures won't "post" that I posted earlier in this thread? It says bandwidth has been reached and I don't know how to fix. Under the hosting site for the pictures I am way under the file size limit, but over on the band width. Thanks for the help.

I painted tons of cars / trucks that have zero miles on them lol.... bumpers get messed up all the time in transport to dealerships... its possible its aftermarket if the dealership was cheap about the fix
