Boston Acoustics is notorious for their dual 6.5" sub systems. Nice tight clean bass, no rumble. Similar to the Alpine subs.

Im not very into powered subs and that small of enclosures.. when i was buying my system, i was not sure to go for Kicker L7's 12"s and JL Audios W3V3's and after a lot of reading and researching as i always do.. i went for JLAUDIOS and i cant be as happy as I am right now.. i have to say that i installed 3 of them the first time.. but i think they had very small room to work, and they didnt sound as i expected to.. so, i took one out, and built a different box and i couldnt be happier than that..!! they hit really hard!

Glad to hear it worked out for ya. You would think with that kind of enclosure and 6-5'' subs, it would bump pretty well...

IMO alpine makes rather horrible sounding subs but are based on another criteria of being one note wonders (loud). Not saying they are bad drivers, just bad for SQ orientation.

As for the setup in question, line arrays are some pretty old designs but work great. Dont expect anything to blow you out of the water and piss of the car next to you, but rather some adequete lower range that should sound pretty good over your exhaust!

EDIT:... page 2 didnt load so i didnt see you had already gotten this in. glad it worked out for you man!

IMO i have been in friends cars who have alpine subs, JL subs, Pioneer, and i think the alpine sounded the best. But i think part of the reason i like my sub so much is because it sits under my back seat, so it sounds very loud to me, but you can only sort of hear it outside, which is fine by me. But if i do crank it up, it doesnt start to distort or anything untill you start to get deafning loud.
