    sometimes it is best to just have a custom chip/tune burned for you truck.
    there are some places out there that will do it for diesels and will yield better results than handhelds.
    02' silverado ext. cb 2wd , 5.3 liter 325c.i. LM7, ported and polished throttlebody with bypass, Jannetty Racing 87 octane dyno tune, cold air intake with custom ram air, Heavy duty built 4l60e with vette servo, Z-pac clutches, "The Beast" Sunshell, transgo shift kit, yukon 4.10 gears with true trac, custom exhaust with Moroso Spiralflow, no cats, MSD 8.5 race wires, NGK TR55's

    besides, it costs way more for fuel for a diesel than it does for gas that you would not benefit from sellin a cheaper 1500 to buy a more expensive diesel.
    the long term savings is just not there.

    Man the power of these trucks is awsome, just a handheld tuner will make the eyball flatten, but the price of diesel is really puttin a hurt on me, just an a small bit of pain....I like my diesel, but a turbo 5.3 is really talking to me, so I might get rid of the oil burner and go that route, the wife will not allow me to turbo her truck..

    Good talking at you, my old LB7 is not a blazin fast truck, but it suprises the hemi crowd, especially when I have the boat on the hook out back!
    2006 1500 CC/SB with the 5.3L and Nelson PCM.
    soon to come is a intake and exhaust. (wifes truck)

    Other vehicle is a 03 2500HD CC/SB 6.6L DMAX straight piped and Edge stacked with Superchips and gauges, Loves to eat rice for sure! Fartcan exhaust makes it better!
