Well I was coming down south mopac from my buddies house late last night after picking up my truck, got on to 360 going towards ben white, and there were a few cars in front of me, so I decided to jump out to the next lane and just hammer it. Of course I use my blinkers and so forth though. Anyway got into the middle lane, probably doing about 90 (it was a downhill too) then move over into the right lane just to get around some people. I come up on this crown vic and just kind of wonder if its a cop. But I dont really see the relector on the bumper, and its a dark color.

Well I don't really get on his ass, but I come up from behind and change lanes. Right as im passing him my buddy looks over and tells me this dude it staring right at us, and so I go "why" and look over to see this on the side of his car "Austin Police: Highway Enforcement" and I start laughing and im like hahaha oh **** he got me. So I slow it down and go ahead and keep going by him anyway and of course he pulls me over. He was a pretty nice guy because I kept it short and sweet. Had my DL and insurance out already for him, and told him I knew I was speeding, only because I came up on him pretty fast from behind. He was nice enough to drop it down 5mph from an 85 in a 55 to 80 in a 55.

No big deal, I'll just take defensive driving. What's even more funny is that my insurance just lowered my rates because I hadn't gotten a ticket or been in a wreck since like 2005. Oh well good things can't last forever.

such a joke 2 weekends ago my buddy and i take my truck to connecticut from maine to pick up my t56 i kept it at about 99 the whole way down once i hit mass cuz of the speed limiter everyone was doing faster anyways so after 3 1/2 hours we get the tranny and head back 99 the whole way back till i hit maine where we kept it about 80 85 so im like 3 miles from my exit and theres a guy right on my ass gps says were doing 80 my speedo says 85 few moments later we pass a statey headed the other way and he whips it around at the break in the guard rail and heads my way so i pulled into the 3rd lane and slow down while the guy behind me keeps right on going so sure enough he pulls up behind me pulls me over and walks up and said both you and the red car behind you were doing 84 had i caught up to them first i would have pulled them over..... i was just like w/e not to mention about 2 1/2 hours from home the weld on my exhaust broke and it pulled out of the muffler smashing off my driveshaft because mass and connecticuts hyways suck and i was bouncing off the bumpstops the whole f****** way there and back and all so i had to tie it up with a towstrap to get it home then had to cross straight through 8 lanes of traffic coming in and out of the toll boths absolutely retarded. so after i tell him my story he goes oh really and says heres your 185$ ticket do something before 20 days is up have a good day. they really thrive on the authority get a life 84 in a 65 is crap its the highway. so all in all i probably could have had the tranny shipped for less than the 185$ ticket and 60$ in gas. what a day. i feel for ya i still havent payed it yet i think i will wait about 18 days mail in that im contesting it then when i get my court date in 4 months ill mail them the check just so they have to wait for their money.

I think there is something in the books about requiring an engineer assesment of hte speed limit every so many years.... check on it. The engineers set the limit by recording the average speed of the current users.

I actually don't have too many complaints about APD just yet. I mean this is my first time being pulled over in austin, and first ticket. I came from a small town (boerne) where they would get you at the drop of a hat. I mean APD seems to worry about crackheads and gang members over here on this side of town more than they do speeders so im happy.

Yeah, the cops have been bad here in FW and Arlington lately... I guess it is that time of the month when they gotta put the hammer down and meet their quotas. Its really funny--you can tell when its that time of the month--it's almost like dealing with PMS---just calm down and stay away for about a week, then everything is back to normal!

I hate when they make up a stupid excuse to pull you over and once you correct them. They try to find another excuse to write you a different ticket...

You can usually tell if you have a cool cop and when you have a "Dick" of a cop when they first come up to you and how they first start talking to you...
