I hear you on the "Shrine Room," my office/spare bedroom. It does not get cold enough here to wear leather more than once or twice a year but the jacket looks awesome. My closet was 50% Dale at one time.

When his car came to a stop my wife asked if he was ok. My reply was, "It's done," and walked to the park with the kids....... He was more than a racer, he was the epitomy(sp?) of what a hero should be in all aspects of life. Not as easy to show my kids what a hero should be when your hero is not here.....

He was always my favorite driver as long as I can remember. When Jr started racing Arca I started following Jr, also. The day that Sterling Marlin turned Sr into the wall at Daytona, the accident didn't seem any different than any other. We all expected him to step out of the window and celebrate Jr and Michael's finishes. Who would have ever envisioned how it would change the lives of so many people. Dale Sr was this generation's version of Elvis.
