    New guy from Houston

New to the site. Just wanted to introduce myself and my truck. I have a 2001 gmc sierra. 408, s480 turbo, fabricated 9" and blah blah blah. I took it to our 1/8 mile here in Houston and ran a best of 8.3 at 88mph. My gear ratio is really killing me right now. I have 3.30 gears and 33" tall slicks. I ran the entire 1/8 mile in 1st gear. Its been tuned by Nelson but is in need a retune bad. Surges really bad and goes into 2nd gear at idle. Anyway heres some pics, hope to have some paint on it soon to.

damm what a badass truck....welcome...btw how hard was it to swap to 5 lug?

Thanks! The back was fairly simple. I had to get new axles so I just got them built with the chevy 5 lug bolt patern. Up front I had to build a set of control arms and I used stock corvette spindles, hubs and calipers. You can also just send your hubs to Moser engineering and they will redrill them along with your rear axles for the chevy 5 lug pattern. That would be the easier route.

Truck looks tough as hell. Welcome to the site. Sounds like you're leaving a lot of performance on the table with that 408. What are your 60' times? Take it to Flaco and let him work some magic on it.

Thats the plan been wanting to take it to flaco for some time now.! Nothing against Nelson, I just cant get a day off during the week to take it to over there. I'm working nights now so its even worse!! My 60ft times are 2.1 hahah!! I'm sure there is a lot left on the table and I'll see some better times soon.

Welcome. Nelson is awesome, but flaco is good too. He has built some pretty fast trucks. Lol yours is awesome! Get the tune straightened out and some better gears. Then let us know how kicking azz goes
