oil tube stuck in my block??

i recently put gibson headers on my avalanche and couldnt get the oil tube out. so like a jack ass i broke the mounting tab off, thats where booze comes into play. me and a friend got the headers on and he took off while i finished up. I got the bright idea to weld the mounting tab back on, so i pulled the dip stick out and set it on the intake so i wouldnt weld it in the tube and saw something shiney and got distracted. i got back to the truck and put the dip stick back in the tube and started welding, when i got done i realized i welded the dipstick in the tube (feel free to point and laugh)! I went to the chevorlet dealer and got a new one and started to replace it and I CANT GET THE OLD TUBE OUT.... any help or ideas would be great, i would really like to check my oil.

You may have to remove the oil pan to push it out from the bottom side, inside the engine.

I ran into kinda the same problem with my truck when I was putting in my long tubes. Instead of breaking off the bracket I cut the dipstick tube with a big pair of side cutters. Now when I started doing an oil change I need the dipstick again. All the guys I know at the local Chevy dealer thought the dipstick tube was just a press in deal but it isn't. I believe the factory epoxied them in when they assembled the engines. There is a very hard orange ring around the top of my dipstick tube right before it goes into the block. I have tried everything to get the tube out but it wont budge. My truck is currently in my barn with the oil pan coming off later today because the tube just wont move. While I have mine apart I'm putting in an oil cooler.

Thats some crazy welding skill getting the dipstick to weld to the tube without burning through one or the other!

not welding skill but lack of, and i was so proud of my welding job and even painted it and it looked so good then i realized i welded the dipstick in. from the factory they tack weld the tab and when i broke it off it left 3 little holes in the tube that caused my problems.

Try to pry back and forth with pliers on the tube to walk it out of the hole. If that doesn't work, take the pan off and it's hammer time on the tube from inside.
