    Fastest Truck List, Thoughts!

    Ducky,
You do a great job with the fastest truck list as is, but I want to throw this out there for people to chew on.

I do all the work on my truck with the exception of my mail order tune and Allens help when I cant figure something out. I have always taken pride in doing my own performance upgrades. What do you all think about a FTL that only includes members that do their own work. No I am not trying to take anything away from the fast trucks that are built by shops, but lets be honest money does buy E.T in some situations. I would kind of like to see how the diy group stacks up against each other. I know we would have to put some rules in place on what would be acceptable. Like machine work etc.
    What do you all think?

After typing this up it seems like there might be to many rules to even be feasable, but just a thought.

bro go break you 11 second run and be happy!! if you think you cant do it then buy that 414 short block you want so damn bad!!!!

personally it doesnt matter who builds it its gonna run whatever its meant to run, i see your point, like should a forged stock motor be in the same class as a oem stock motor as long as the internals are the same? one being forged and the other not? i would think so. personally i think everything should be classified to what it is not what it says!!!

I can see where your coming from. But for me thats all part of the game I guess. Like not all my stuff was worked on by me so the sub categories would be a little tough.

BUT what is going to change and I will look at doing is making the FTL on my own server, and in PHP format. From there I might be able to add some different fields that can have possibly a description of what, if anything was built up and so forth. A little more exact. If that makes sense

and we can als seperate it to rc vs ec, 2wd vs 4wd, stepside vs fleetside, nitrous vs supercharger, supercharger vs turbo, turbo vs nitrous

it runs what it runs no matter who built it.

the only things i do not do are gears, tranny builds and tuning.

    old mod list: H/C/I/N/E/G 408
new mod list: 5.3, gears/posi, mufler and tune : (

I've been trying to convince Illya that we need a "My Garage" space where only the Original Poster can create, maintain and highlight their trucks and modifications. When someone wants to know how you ran sub 12 second 1/4 mile times they could just hit up your garage and read about your truck. Instead of having detailed information in your sig, like below, you could just link to "My Garage"
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709

    I like Red's idea.

I like your idea too -HIC- but it seems like the extra "rules" would make it tough...and there would be a lot of whining.

Red I am with you on this one, sounds a good bit easier. So the FTL could just link to mygarage? That would be cool! After reading my post it there would be way to many rules to be feasable.

ya would be hard to detirmine. b/c some one might do their own tuning but not some mech. work and vice versa.... it would be too hard. i dont see many "shop" trucks on here. I do all my own work , even built my engine myself, but have Allen tune it and do stuff while he has it. just my .02
    single digit street truck

    for build info

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......
