    Budget Performance

Ive got about 500 dollars to play with on my truck...Im debating where to spend it.

Initially I was looking at a set of train horns, for the fun factor, and the tank/compressor which will be used later on down the road.

Im wondering what I can get peroformance wise for around that price. The truck has an exhaust and tune right now, and will be undergoing an LQ4 swap, or forced induction in January...but Im looking for something in the mean time.

    Easier said than done!

The truck has 3.73's...as far as performance, Im not necessarily talking about power, Im more than open to other upgrades which may/will come down the road later anyway...IE a Detroit True Trac, or even better something to make the truck feel a bit safer at higher speeds...

you will regret spending this money on something you dont REALLY want or need now when there is something you need or want later down the road.

Aren't you asking about performance stuff you can do? Last time I checked, train horns didn't get you going anywhere faster... Plus with all the crap you've gotta have to make them work--adds weight, which our trucks don't really need. They already have too much of it. I would say either do a CAI, an 80mm TB, or a TrueTrac. I TrueTrac will eat up most of the $500. But you could get a CAI and 80mm TB for about $500. Or even do a set of longtube headers...
