New Project...
Ok... here i go..
a couple of friends are getting some 85-90 chevy pickup trucks 4wd and putting some 5.3's and 6.0's on them... then they change the Fuel injection sys and put carbs on their trucks, cams, heads, and all those items, and we all go the weekends to sand race 1/8 of mile...
Now.. I want to buy a 1990 Chevy blazer K-5 (really like that body style), get a 6.0L engine and get it ready to kick some ass!!
1.- Why do they change the FI on they trucks and put carbs on them?
2.- They all use 35" tires or something around that, what ratio should I use and what kind of posi should I get for it? front and rear?..
3.- They claim to do around 500hp plus 250 of NOS... Can I make more power than that with cam, heads, NOS, a NICE TUNE, and all the upgrades i need to get that thing going?.. (N/A)
4.- Would it be better to keep FI or switching to carbs?
5.- What kind of engine should i get? LQ9 or what? what trucks have that kind of engines?
I really appreciate you guys help..
Sorry for such a long thread.. i have lots of questions.. just getting started with a new project..
