    Killed a Crapstang Rollin

So everyone knows my truck just got a makeover so last night my buddy which recently posted in the newb section bought a 2005 GT 5 speed and starts running his mouth so i tell him its pointless to go from a dig cuz i just spin so we go from a 30 he outruns me no big deal we go back to town and i tell him tomorrow we'll do it again this time im starting in 1st instead of waiting for the kick down so we do a 30 again tonight i beat him by 2 lengths a 20 the same results and a 10 i win, so i go, ill race from a dig so you have a chance of course as expected i spin forever and he beat me by about a length and a half i told him as soon as i get this traction problem sorted out you'd better go get some nos hahahaha he's really happy though that he even runs close to me i was suprised by a stock GT though not shabby plus i have an exhaust leak at the header in time... in time.

I doubt you "beat" an S197 if you run high 14's.... They are good for mid 13's with a decent driver..... You beat one hell of a crappy driver.

Your truck is pretty unique with the lambo doors.

Its highly believable. There aren't that many "good" drivers of 5 or 6 speed transmission vehicles. The Mustang owner had not owned it very long so he doesn't quite have the hang of it yet. He did admit to getting beat by the stang a couple times so its not quite like he's handily defeating it time and again. Also, his times posted are on the stock engine. He's added a few bolt-ons lately.

    Any idea on your numbers?

I've been on here a few times, I've seen some of your posts. I know you are pretty straight up... It sucks that people cannot drive. The best time 05+ stangs have ever run with Evan Smith behind the wheel was a 13.2 @104. Not too bad....

How often do you go to the track?

man i doubt he is running high 14s with all the motor work he just did! i say high 13s! I run 14.60s with stock cam and internals(all bolt-ons and tuning) ( will see 14.20s when i am done tuning and get new TB and shift kit in) so yeah he can for sure keep up! Hell i can beat 4.6 stangs on the street never raced a newer model but the older ones are crap!

Thats what I was going to say. The dude in the second post doged you about not being about to beat one running a 14.8. Thats why he should be on the site more! if he was he would see that you just did a hell of a lot of work on your truck. Id say your going to be pretty close to high 13s also! Great Kill. I always love to pick on pusstangs from a dig.

If he is trapping 104+ then yes, I'd say he would be beating S197's left and right.

The new edges pre 05+, are slower then S197's by a good amount. with equal drivers, the S197 will put 2+ lengths from a dig, and 1+ from a roll.

I'm at the track every Friday night and I never see a S197 run better than 9 flat in the 1/8th without some kind of FI or spray on it. Those running faster than that usually come on a trailer but they're not S197s either. Older style stangs, even Cobras, are dog slow for what they are until they're highly modded. What's nice is our trucks get driven daily and can outrun almost all stock Mustangs. I ran a really nice S197 in SanAntonio and it ran 13.6. Pretty good numbers for a stock car.
