Okay, since I’ve gotten this truck I’ve put on a flowmaster cat-back, I had a cold air intake for about a week till the procharger came in. and I have the nelson 93 tune, and the 160 stat, which by the way I think may have had a really bad effect on my fuel economy. Or was it the procharger . And now I just sold my eagle talon. And have a little bit more to sink into her. I just ordered a set of pacesetter long tube headers and off road mid pipe. And I am wondering where to go next. I have been researching a few things. I personally would rather just do some higher ratio rockers; I’ve seen where some people have gotten 40 horses from rockers. But everyone tells me to go with a cam instead, but I can’t do a cam myself. I may be able to do rockers.
And the other thing I have been looking at is a F.A.S.T intake, but I’m wondering how that will go with a procharger.

if you take off the fac rockers, you have too have studs for the locks .at least for my comps i have 2 pair ,the same.1.75s 1.85s .correct me if im wrong .maybe cheaper ones you could get away without doing that idk.

Rockers will help for sure, but if you are going to start replacing the components of your valvetrain, go ahead and do a cam, pushrods, and valve springs while you are at it. Do a high lift cam--like the one in my sig. I am planning on a Radix soon, and I did the cam and stuff already so that when I slap it on, everything else is in place. Did the Procharger come with a bigger fuel pump and bigger injectors? You are probably maxing out your stock fuel system without them. The tranny will also become a weak point very soon. A locker in the rear will also help. A cam install will take 6-8 hours if you and a friend do it. Sprayed99 helped me install mine and now looking back on it, it really wasn't that tough--it's just that you have to take a lot of stuff off. And you have to make sure the timing is set correctly (crank and cam gear), you have to know all the torque specs when tightening up the bolts, having oil galley rods so that the lifters stay up, and having the right tools cuts down on having a wrench thrown through the garage wall. Do you know anybody local that has done a swap that could help you?

i have a friend close that said he would help with a cam install, but i still dont know. i have been thinking about getting the same detroit locker thats in my suburban. and a shift kit for the silvy too. so maybe i should hold off on any more power adders till i beef up the drivetrain. with the procharger and headers and ORY and meth injection kit. i should be pretty quick. the procharger kit did come with a inline pump, that jacks the pressure way up, and i have a wideband 02 and have my A/F's dialed in to 11.5 at WOT

The only reason why I even recommended doing the cam install yourself is because it saves a bunch of $$$ and you get to know you motor/mods better. If you have that much power at the motor, it would behoove you to beef up the driveline. That is the one place that is severely overlooked... Do a locker in the rear, and have the tranny built or put in a Superior shift kit with all proper pressure plates, servos, pistons, etc. A Trans-go is also a popular kit, but the Superior is, uh, superior.

yeah your probably right, i have about 1k left to spend, so my plan is to get a detroit trutrac for the rear and do it myself to save money, and a nice shift kit with a corvette servo, and all, to try and not have the trans explode like the sub. but i think the reason the sub did that was because of the huge amount of traction i have. 305/40/22. and 6000 lbs sittin on em. one more thing though, is i have been lookin into a TB stall. because the procharger takes some RPM to get moving, so with a little more rpm off the line should help. even though i spin off the line as it is, some better tires and the locker should help that.

Yeah, with your remaining funds, do the rear end and tranny updates. Trust me--that $1k spend now will save $5-$6k later down the road with broken parts. A TB stall would be a good choice--a little too low IMO. Yank makes a TT 2600--like the one I put in two weeks ago. I did the 2600 because I am figuring that it will be pretty sweet when it is matched up to my future Radix... 2600 isn't to high for your application, it might be just right. And you can find Yank's all over the truck forum classified sections... Shop around for the tranny stuff. I priced out everything needed for a 4L60e from Oregon Performance Transmission (OPT on Ebay) and it came out to ~ $230. Not a bad price for all of them components...
