    my 4l60e is not shifting out of 1st should i go with a 4l80e or a 4l65e from the scrap yard

    have you checked the fuses and fluid level? 65e would be what I'd try to get if you replace it, unless you're planning on some severe duty usage in the future.

    yea the clucthes are smoked bad

    "If" that&#39;s all that is at fault, those aren&#39;t difficult to replace. I know this first-hand. True, you&#39;d be better off with a stronger trans. If you can&#39;t find a salvaged trans (4L65e or 80e), then clutch replacement is not as bad to get you by until you get what you&#39;re looking to upgrade to. You&#39;d just have to train your right foot not to dog the truck until you get the upgrade.

    thanks i was thinking of rebuilding it myself but i was also looking at a ls1

    i took the tranny out do you guys no how much it is to get it rebuilt? any price ranges?

    yea iam just gonna buy a junkyard one i can get for 500&#036; with low miles
    what should i buy to make it last and iam gonna buy a stall how high should i go with the minmal mods i have
