something around a 212 or 216 with a 2600 converter would be decent

Yeah, a low lift RV cam would work. See Vinci .065 cam or Comp 261. They are both very good low end truck cams. A throttle body spacer, a set of pulleys, and that 2600 stall Yankee was talking about are all good ideas for getting some more low end. In order of price, ease of install, and torque gains:

1. TB spacer

2. Pulleys

3. Stall (The stall doesn't actually increase the torque, but it helps deliver the torque quicker)

4. Cam

Take with it what you will, but you can spend less than $1k and get the cam (with accessories), pulleys, and TB spacer. And when it comes to gas mileage, you know just as much as we do when you equip a truck as big as yours, you will get shitty mileage when pulling a trailer. If you are concerned about everything, go get a diesel. You will get wayyyyy better mileage and power without the mods needed for the gas motor...

Not being argumentative here, just trying to save you some money - I don't think it's ever been shown that a throttle body spacer accomplishes anything on the NBS trucks...

Your best bet is a cam and converter that compliment each other.

I was only mentioning the TB spacer because of personal experiences. Actually, the two things that increased my torque output was the pulleys and TB spacer, but it may be directly affected by the specific mods that are on my truck to yield those gains... And then again, he has the LQ9 and I have the LM7--the TB spacer could not do anything for his motor.

I also had a throttle body spacer and it helped my milage. I thought it was a joke until I started doing some research about custom intake manifolds, A throttle body spacer is increasing the Plenum volume...

As high velocity gasses
flow through the carburetor or throttle body, the plenum give the gasses a chance to slow down, as the velocity is reduced the pressure rises. Higher pressure means that the air will be denser, and of course that means more power.[/b]

first off bro, you have a badass truck!!! i would love to have a 4door Chevy 2500 HD 6.0...anyways, u want more low end torque and a bit better gas mileage, loose the Predator although u alread know that. In my experience, a GOOD tune gave me way better gas mileage, i was actually getting around 19.6 mpg in the city wen i was only fully bolt on, but now I get about 11mpg ....get alll the bolt ons man, e-fans, pulley, headers and 3" Ypipe and you'll see a power difference. Next, I'd get a 2800 PI stall on that bad girl. With that alone you'll feel like you're driving a whole differnt truck. Dont go for the TB stall, not worth it....AND if u have the money, SuperCHARGE that big mamma!!!!!!!
