Buy the complete head assembly, new rockers for the intakes I believe(better double check for sure but it's either you can re-use the intakes or exhuast rockers from the Gen3 engine), a new intake assembly complete. Check with SDPC2000.com. Those guys have it down to a science on how to do the conversion. The intake will come with FBW throttle body, injectors, fuel rail and intake for about $500. Heads are way cheap considering they are completely assembled heads.

    Oh yeah, rocker pedestals, too.

Cable driven? I believe the FBW TB is 90mm. Cable will require some aftermarket product. Billy was telling me that Mark Shaner had designed a 90+ mm TB for a really good price but last I heard he was having some issues with getting a supply of them. I'd like one myself for the 408. Look around on LS1Tech and you'll probably find one. I know I need one at least 90mm for the 408. If GM did a 78mm for a 5.8 and a 90mm for a 6.0 I can only image how large of a TB a 408 would require.

As long as you waited on the 6.0L you need to tear it up for a little while before kicking it to the curb. Hell, I'd at least throw a bottle of nos on there and run the hell out of it until it blew to pieces just before another engine build started.

Too much head for a 6L. A buddy of mine has a 370 with 11.5:1CR and a decent cam and he lost alot down low. The L92s are better suited for larger motors. Here is a dyno graph to show how weak they are down low, too weak for a heavy ass truck unless you are going to run a 4K stall. Notice the rpm scale down at the bottom.

Less then 200hp below 4K rpms

IMO a set of Stage II 317s from WCCH and a high 220s cam would be the ticket. You have to remember with going to the L92 setup you have do all the mods to the belt system like you were putting an LS6 intake on, you have to buy the adapter from ETP to be able to mount a cable tb onto the L76 intake which is additional 100 bucks. Then you have to buy the 90mm tb, the only one worth the money is the UMI unit since its a parabolic design and its over 500 bucks, the heads alone are going to cost almost 900 then add good dual springs and you are up to ~1100, add in 8 new rockers too, whereas you can get some stage II 317s for a hundred bucks more and they flow alot better on the exhaust side and give up just a few CFM on the intake side. You need to look at the whole picture, just because a head flows badass doesnt mean its a good deal for your combination. If you do get the L92s you will need eight offset intake rockers PN 12569167. Good luck with your setup, do what you want with the info I have presented.

BTW you dont want a 418, the extra .1" stroke causes so many problems its not even funny and Im not going to bother going into all of them. There is a reason everyone goes 408

i wont kick it to the curb itd be in a diff truck. id keep both trucks. ive always wanted an RST cuz i think they look cool, and replacing the 4.8 with a huge 408 or 418 would be killer.
