I bought an AGR pump for my '85, thinking I was simply doing a Gen 1 swap. Now I have this nice new pump and I'm going with an LQ4. I talked to AGR and they said the old pumps WILL bolt right up to late model truck brackets. I think this also means your old pump will also bolt up to F-body brackets (just use the LS1's pulley and resevoir). If not, I think the LS1 pump works fine, all you have to do is buy adapters for the lines (I'm sure there's someone here to help you with the specifics on that).
Also if you're current power steering pump pulley is bolt-on style, you may have to go with the LS1 pump as the new pumps are all press-on.
you'll have to use the late model PS stuff. Get N2O lines and fittings from a performance parts distributor. Braided lines for the high pressure side is a MUST. High pressure rubber hoses will NOT work. TRUST ME!![]()

ok thanks
Both of my trucks have used the 3/8" fuel injection quality rubber line successfully. I've thought about going to braided line myself since the hose now says not to exceed around 50 psi. The older hose didn't have that marked on it but the hose I bought for my 93 does.

Well the only reason I suggested the braided hose is b/c I initially used the fuel rated hose (Russell) & AN/NPT adapters, and those failed after multiple attempts to test drive the truck. Loaded the PS system when turning, and BAM! Let's just say the hose didn't hold the pressure, and fluid went bye bye. I don't know the pressure rating on most other year models, but the late 80s models are up there. I hadn't had to worry after I installed the braided line, and that was well over a year ago. The "high pressure" rubber hoses were bustin' open at almost every test drive I made.
