first post guys ,dont beat me up ! my question is i called allen and got a tune i ordered a 93 octane w/ amild cam bassically, the motor was a swap from a 4.8 to a 6.0lq4 ,when i spoke to you i said id at least like it to beat my wifes stock escalade .youre response was that shouldnt be a problem w/this 93 tune .so i put in youre tune ,granted i only had idle issues as far as ii know.problem solved runs great thanks for the promptness overnight by the way.but what my real question is here is how do iknow what i should expect .it runs great dont get me wrong but it just seems kinda stock ,nothing really jumps out noticeably for me it definately wont even touch my wifes esc. except i can pull 56 5800 rpm now im not really sure what the esc pulls for shift points.my throttle response is ok not as responsive as i would of liked .but i dont really know what im supposed to expect out of such a magician as you .i dont have any detonation i always run 93 so i dont know the diff,im supposed to .what all should i be expecting from youre 93 tune .this is my first lq4 in my pickup and my first proff. tune .so please dont take this in any way as sarcasm i just dont know if i should ask for more power, response rpm, etc.or do i just trust that you gave me max potential for my motor and let it be .we all want more power thats the whole chase here isnt it.thanks for any responses and looking forward to hearing from you allen ,or any opinions ,at least helpfull ones anyway .remember im a newbie on here guys dont beat me up.

Nice first post. Welcome.

How long has the tune been running in the truck? Give it a little while to learn.

What did you put the engine into? Gears? Transmission? How heavy is it? What size tires? Approx weight? Stall convertor?

04 sierra ecsb stock everything except cam and cai built 4l60e.the reason im wondering if i should be tweaking anything now yhat id like better is that im installing a s/c next weekend and i know iv got to get a new tune then ,ya know?another words i want max potential before i s/c it so i see diff in s/cin it .i dont want to just put the s/c on it and go wow ,i want to know i had it at max pot before so i feel better about the s/c addind correct h/p .sounds more diff, than i mean.i did the swap to 6.0 blind so i dont know what the tune even did for me besides idles better.sorry about the confusion

Sounds like a waste to fine tune what you have right now. If you bought the lifetime tune from Allen, install the S/C and get an update. Was your Escalade the 345HP 6.0L or the 5.3L? Is your ECSB 2wd or 4wd? Do you have a accessories on it that make it heavier such as a bedcover, tool box, 20s or offroad tires and wheels? I know the base 6.0L only pulls 300HP at the engine. What cam did you install? Did you put new springs and hardened .080" wall pushrods in, also? It's pretty hard to compare one to the other without the details.

The 20s alone will slow you down against the Esc.

Just be patient, with the S/C on it you should be flying after the tune update. Did you buy larger injectors for the S/C? Get as much information as you can here or on performance trucks about things to do with the S/C install such as leaving the boost-a-pump module out and getting bigger injectors. Don't run the updated engine with the current tune. Get an updated tune on the way to you ASAP so you have it when the S/C gets installed.

Hey, how's it going?

The first step is to ensure we're getting max timing and no false KR.
Would you happn to have any buddy's near by that have a scanner?

I'd like to see what the truck is doing. I do remember it was a very small cam, but the tune alone should have woken the truck up nicely.

If we need to, we'll send another retune out to see if we can get more power.

talk to you soon,
allen
