I've heard they run best hot with a cold air induction. It's just a Gen III thing. I don't know if the PCM turns the tune down when cold and running fat vs. at what the engineers call operating temp. You know they programmed the PCM to run for emissions and not all out performance.

yeah thanks i know the stock thermo is 187 and how it works and the 180 wouldnt see much difference which i why i told him not to get it if he wanted to see a changeI was replying more to some of the others....

Reason being is the stocker is pretty close to 180° (I forget the exact temp), so you wouldn't see much of a difference. With the 160°, it opens 20° sooner, so normally the engine won't run as hot as normal.[/b]

If your truck is an 06 It should already have e-fans I know mine has them, but I have also heard that the 160 isnt that good and that the 180 is better.
