Hmmmm.... extension should be needed, along with longer bolts. The extension will make the crankshaft longer on the transmission side of the flywheel.

I bought the following flywheel from GM 12551367. Well the flywheel does not match up with my torque converter. It is to big. Can anyone tell me what flex plate I need to match my 2001 LS1 5.7L up to a TH350 tranny. I am not sure what to do now. I am at a stand still and can't do anything.

Kinda helped but I am still not sure what flex plate to use. One guy says he changed the torque converter. Not sure if that is what I am going to have to do. Thanks though. I will keep looking.

You need the stock style TH350 convertor and a stock LS1 flywheel and crankshaft extension or Hughes style pilot extension for the end of the convertor. The holes that bolt the convertor to the flywheel are not going to line up perfectly, you'll have to elongate the holes about an 1/8" for the bolt holes to line up. I read that some guys even used washers between the flywheel and convertor to take up some slack. Dustin at TRTTurbo has done this conversion without any issue. His screen name is Beatertruck. PM him and see if he can give you any more help. The guys at Street and Performance do the swaps all the time, they may shine some light on the subject for you if you call their tech line.

Even if I elongated the holes that much it wouldn't work. I would have to drill a new hole on the bottom. Thanks for the info. I will give them a call.

oh yeah.......I already have tha aluminum spacer

after reading your post again I made the holes longer. I had to make them about half an inch longer though but I am pretty sure it will work. Thanks for the help
