Well, sports-wise we have the Cowboys, the Mavs, two soccer teams, the Rangers, the Frisco Roughriders and another minor league team at LaGrave field in FtWorth, the Stars...yada yada yada... There are lakes all around here but not the quality of Travis if you're a diver. You have a way to make trips to Austin if you want to dive. Dragstrips, we have Kennedale, Northstar, Redline, Caddo Mills, TexasMotorplex. We have bars running out the Wazoo if you like the bar scene. Car shows are plentiful on weekends and you have the Monday night gathering in N.Dallas of the guys related to Ricekiller.com. Plenty of concert halls with big name bands. Not to mention we have your sweetheart up here, too. North of DFW isn't too bad to travel within. I assume you'll be working on 121 towards McKinney or are you working on the one going from N.Central all the way up to McKinney? Up in those areas the traffic really sucks right now because of the tollway construction.

What other kind of stuff do you like to do?

Thanks thats the kind of info Im looking for. I dont know what section Ill be assigned to yet, they have to call me back and go over the financial side of it before I for sure take the job. I just wanted to make sure there was stuff to do that Im interested in before I sign my life away for atleast the next 7 years up there. My GF lives about 2 minutes from you, she lives right outside of Denton. I do alot of hunting, fishing, cooking on my smoker and beer drinking. Ill probably buy a boat after I get some other financial stuff lined out. I forgot about all the car shows/street racing ya'll have up there. Im not too big into bars more country and western dancing but Ill go to the occasional abr and get plastered. Traffic around the tollway wont be a problem Ill just do like I did when I work on the SH45 project here in Austin, flip on the whirly birds and go behind the cones, the cops never pulled me over How are the property prices up there? Im going to try and move into a rent house for a 6mo to a year then buy a house up there somewhere. Working on trucks till early in the morning and living at an apt complex dont mix

Rent depends on location. Smaller out of the way towns have some nice places for $500 a month up if you can live in a 40-60 year old house on pier and beam. If you want to be in town in the exclusive areas you could be paying $1500 a month. You just have to shop around.

Dallas is great. the traffic is bad but not as bad as Austin. There are plenty of bars, sporting events, lakes, and other activities. I've been in DFW for 21 years and have always loved it...but it all depends on where you want to live. I'm in wylie it is northeast of downtown about a 1hour or so. It's quiet out here and never any real crime . my only advise would be that you always live well north of the DFW area. too much bullshit happens down in the southern area of the city.

On the pylons, they should be way up on the cabinet. On directionals, they'd be down by the j-box. On channel letters, they'll be on the bottom left of the letters. They're pretty small stickers. I've surveyed so freakin many of those CVS, when you said you worked there, I had to pipe up - no biggie...

Found out today if I go Ill be working near Lake Louiseville so what are my options near there(within 30ish miles) for a nice place. Im really looking for a house to rent rather then an apartment.

It all depends on which side of Lake Lewisville you'll be working. If you're working on the toll bridge across the lake, you should find out where the company office is going to be located. If on the west side fo the lake then Lake Dallas, that's a nice place. If it's on the east side, there are a lot of small towns over there with decent rental property. 30 miles is a big radius. Find out more details. I was going to move to Oak Point before we moved to Denton, it's a nice community.
