I have a series of questions about thermostats

What do the stock ones read?
How much is a 180 thermostat?
Will that 180 help my truck perform a little better?

im 16 so the more info you give me the better, because im learning!!

stock therm i think runs at 200 degrees or so. usually on a high performance motor you want to run a lower temp therm to help cooling conditions since the motor is running harder. most people will pair up a low stat with a e-fan and gain some extra hp and a few degrees lower on there temp gauge the stat might help just a little but nothing noticable its good to have if you plan on running your truck hard that way the motor can cool off faster.

Jet makes both the 180 and the 160 t-stats for the '06. I had the 180 in my '06.

I think a British firm called Murray actually makes them for most everybody in the aftermarket. They are sold through Orielly and Autozone, also.
