Was kinda dissapointed in my times I dont think that it was a very respectful time compared to most of you.... The best i was able to run was a 10.38@68.4 on 265/35/22 tires and that was right after they shut the track down giving no one anymore passes ....its the best time my truck has posted yet at a track so far.

What other mods do you think i can do N/A... That can drop my times close to a full second then where its running now??

I already have a stall in the garage, and plan on getting a detriot true trac locker to complement it....

I would like to set my goal at getting in the 9.5's in the 1/8th right now while keeping my stock street trim - wheels, tailgate, etc...

    Any help is appericated...

oh BTW!! The Diablo helped me snag (2) tenths off my time by just adding the presetted 93 octane tune....

If I were you I would Sell the Diablo and talk to Allen. That stall will help alot. Possible .3-.4 from the stall in the 1/8th and as well for Allens Tune.

A limited slip diff, better gears (4.10s) and stall (2800-3000) should knock a full second off your times. Be sure to air down the rear tires at the track to about 20 psi max. Front tires should have maximum pressure allowable for less rolling resistance.

The 4.8L is working it's butt off just to move that large of a truck. Get a low mileage longblock 5.3 or 6.0 if you want power.

well i Got the 4.10s in right now, .. I'll check tire pressure next time and see if that helps me out any...

I dont understand why you would say i should swap in a 5.3L?... theres not much difference between a 4.8L and 5.3L... yeah 5.3L might have a more longer stroke and stuff but other then that there practually the same minus 10hp.........which can easily be gained back by a set of headers or maybe even a throttle body....IMO

Longer stroke equals more torque. Torque equals power. What were your 60' times?

I have a 4.8L in my 2007 Classic Crew cab and it's 100% dog. After driving my 93 with the 5.7L I hate driving the toad.

ok what if i did this then.... what if i get a locker, long tube headers, Tr 220 cam, 80mm throttle body, roller rocker arms, New custom tune and install my converter.. you think that would be close to knock a full second?....

no need for 80 mm body just have the one you have port and polished cam is nice must need head port and polished with new internals to acommadate the cam, headers will open it up even more.head ported and polished may not be suited but helps on flow.

p.s. and take those heavy a$$ tires off my 22's weighed 65 lbs more than my stockers each ...

p.s..s. the sky is the limit when it comes to modding trucks as long as your pockets can handle it

Everyone's got some really good advice here, I would side more with Red though and do what you can to get that 60' time under control. If you are not going to go with more cubes then you're going to have to make up with it in RPM and stall speed. In your case a good converter is a must, along with a shift kit & servos, I would start there along with a quality tune, one that's got you shifting a lot higher RPM than stock. After that I would go to headers + P&P TB... And I understand you want 9.5s on the 22s but I'm not sure it'll be possible because (1) they're probably heavy-assed bitches and (2) the rear tires are too tall, you want something closer to a 28" tall tire.

    Mr. P.

Just had another thought - trade your rear step bumper for a roll pan, that'll drop like 55-65 lbs right there.
