yea... i even loaded stock trans settings back to it. Lesson learned, I should've just rebuilt the first trans (which was an actual truck trans). The second trans was not originally a truck trans. I may see about getting FLT to rebuild my truck trans. Either way, I'm waiting about 3 - 4 weeks for a trans that works.

You might need to check out Performabuilt transmissions or even CPT transmissions....They are holding very well in high H.P. and the CPT trannys are quite a bit cheaper....You can go to Camaroz28.com to see CPT and ls1tech.com to see Performabuilt....

I may end up going to a local shop. There's a few guys with 6.0Ls in front of their transmissions without problems... plus, they come with warranties. I dunno yet. Still need a truck to get 'em there, and need to unbolt the trans that's in my truck now. Trying to hold out until I get a few more ducketts in the bank before I git 'r dun. What's not so great about this place is that they're only open on weekdays. That's a pain for me being a commuter.

Ha ha... Whaddaya know... I'm in Houston right now, at the Holiday Inn Express in Sugar Land. I'll be leaving out tomorrow afternoon. Here on business with Fluor. I forsee at least one trip per month from here on through the next year. We'll have to hook up somewhere so I can see this 11-running C10. Hey... your truck's leaf springs are under the axle or over? I'm looking to drop my truck a few inches in the rear, and go with a smaller drop in front. I'm curious about what you did.

As for mine, that's the only reason why the transmission hasn't made it in the truck today. I'll be looking to physically reinstall it on Wednesday evening. I know I'll be too tired with travelling to do it tomorrow. Hopefully, I did a descent job at rebuilding it with stronger parts. Guess we'll see.

It's a great feeling the first time it moves under it's own power.

it has a 6 inch out front and a 5 inch in the back its the flip kit and up fron we got the 3 inch spindles and 3 inch springs and yes the leafs go under the differential but now im paying for it i have the same 60 footer with nitrous and na it takes off peeling all threw the 60 footer so hopefully we will get it fixed and have a mid 11 sec time slip next time out and you post up on how your new tranny works out bro and good luck in having her up and ready

Pardon my ignorance regarding suspension (in general). If I were to level & drop my truck from stock height, I need spindles/springs (as a combo) and a flip kit? I can understand the spindles & springs. What's involved with the flip kit? Is that a kit that contains u-bolts & axle blocks (instead of reusing stock hardware)? I've also heard of people using shackles. Seems like my truck already has something of that nature. I took some pics a week ago. Help me out here (if ya don't mind) with what you all would suggest. Mind you, I have spring clamps on the front end of the leaf springs.

This pic makes the front end look too high... it is since the trans isn't bolted in yet. I'm working on that right now (stopped to eat). I just got back from Houston (three hours early). won't be testing it more than within my subdivision. Pouring rain in BR. Wanted to take it out and try to dog it, but traction would be a SERIOUS issue it wet weather.

in front its the springs and spindles depending on your drop you can get springs from a 1 inche drop to a 3 inch drop if you dont want to scraping the reflectors on the expressway like me dont go all out the flip kit is for the back and that one is only a 5 inche drop only nothing more and nothing less yes that is where the kit comes and has all the equipment to flip your leaf springs on the bottom of the differential now if you just whant to level it out go with a 2 inch drop spring up front and buy the shackles and hangers that will givbe you like a 2-4 inch drop depending on how muche the shackles are supposed to give you

Well, believe it or not, the truck sits pretty level with the spring clamps on it (maybe a 1" difference). I thought I saw a website years ago where you could get drop leaf springs for these model trucks. I'll have to do more internet surfing when I find some time.

Just wondered if I needed springs only, or needed springs, spindles, shocks, etc... I'm clueless about suspension needs.

like on my truck that its lowered to the max i got the nitro shocks al arond but now im having difficult launching the truck is to hard out back it doesn't have any weight transfer but if you dont want anything radical just go with te 2 inche drop spring or maybe 3 up front then go with shackles and hangers out back and if money is not scars get the nitro shocks but they are ot needed
