Well the little 4.8 couldn't muster any better than a 10.37 @ 69 today, 1/8th mile track obviously. Don't have exact numbers because I left the slip in the truck. That fastest pass was with the tow/haul off, I found interesting. It actually hooks up on the strip, a depressingly pleasant surprise. 60 footers hovered right around 2.36.
So, being a gearhead rather than a shammy-wielder, my attention shifts to go-fast goodies. I'm leaning towards HPTuners as long as opinions don't scare me away, either that or a Nelson tune. After searching, I guess a vette servo/sonnax super hold 4th/transgo HD2/alum accum pistons, and maybe deep pan and filter from FLT would complement it well if I wanted to remove all torque management right away?
I would estimate truck weight around 43-4400 pounds max with driver and fuel, and it's only a 4.8, so its not that abusive. Also, I really don't expect it to see better than high 13s, if that, before I would just cough up for an FLT tranny and motor swap. Please correct me on anything I'm missing for tranny bits, call me stupid, or assure me that I'm on the right path.
Also alert me for things that are overkill.
Thanks in advance.
