It doesn't matter so much that they make parts outside the country, the bad thing is that the bottom dollar stays in the states to help our economy. One day we'll need mediocre jobs for those on welfare and we can train those people to do the same things that they do in C and M and the US citizens will earn an honest paycheck. Consider what it costs to make it, box/package it and ship it to the US. We could cut out two of the three steps by doing it here locally with unskilled labor. Gone are the days of $25 an hour dipstick installers. They'd get paid fair wages for their labor, be employed with benefits and be proud of themselves. I like GW's idea of going down to Mexico and trying to get the Mexican laborers paid an honest dollars wages for their work. Once that happens they will want to live in their beautiful country because the jobs will be paying them about 10 times what they're making now. Businesses will have to re-evaluate sending things there to be manufactured once the wages go up. Mr V.Fox will then hate the US worse than he does already because we will have to start pulling jobs back into the US because of competitive wages here vs. there.![]()
