Hey guys, I know more than half of everyone here is from Texas, so I was wondering if there some cool stuff to do in Irving. I have a paid business vacation there and want to make the best of it, thanks.

You can take a tour of the Dallas Cowboy's stadium before they tear it down. They give a really nice tour of the place. What kind of things are you looking to do? Bar hop, sight seeing, yada yada yada.

If you're staying in Irving you are close to pretty much all points. Everything is within about 20 miles of there. How long are you going to be there and what days? Do you like honkytonks or are you a metalhead?

AHEM. I'll take over from here.

If you're in Irving, don't limit yourself to Irving first of all. My first recommendation would be to go to The Tipperary Inn. It's an Irish-style pub with live music and great beer with some decent Irish-type foods (sheperds pie, bangers & mash, etc.). Click here for info.

Trinity Hall is also a great Irish-pub like joint with good food and a TON of beers. Click here for info.

I mention those two because they're 'grown-up'. You won't find a bunch of college kids in The Tipperary - it's very unassuming and comfortable. Check the website for live music - it's a blast.

The Cock & Bull used to be pretty good, but I haven't been there in a while. Small, dark, good beer, clean taps.

As far as sight seeing, you should check out Body Worlds. We're going to go in a couple of weeks, but a couple friends of mine said it's amazing. Click for info.

That should get you started. If you want some good seafood swing by Newports or Oceanaire. The Oceanaire is pricey but has amazing food. If you want some good Mexican, go to La Calla Doce (Mexican Seafood), Uncle Julio's, Mia's on Lemmon Ave. (get the brisket tacos), or Mi Cocina.

Crap. Now I'm hungry. I'm going to eat dinner.

A major honkytonk would be Cowboy's Red River at I35-e and NW Highway. A nice place to sit and have a few would be Cool River in Los Colinas. Both places are very convenient to Irving.
