If you are getting a tuned PCM, get your tuner to install the program for a cable driven tune. removing the DBW from the PCM requires no changes to the wiring harness that I know of. It's as simple as replacing the electronic throttle body with a cable driven unit. The truck cable is plenty long for almost any application.

I can verify that no harness changes are required to convert from drive by wire. Your swap is identical to mine. You can pick up a new 2002 cable operated throttle body on ebay for around $75. Used for even less.

    TTT on this one...

1: Gen III Vortec TB's are different from LS1-based TB's (Camaro's, etc.), correct?

2: I noticed that the cable driven TB has 2 connectors on it, whereas my ETC throttle body has one large one, and it's on the passenger's side... Not doubting the info, I just want to ensure I'm not going to be up a creek..

Looking for an ignition coil for my 5.3.. Got one?

If you are looking to replace your drive by wire with cable operated, you will need to add TPS and IAC connectors when you remove the drive by wire throttle body connector. Are you selling your drive by wire parts? What year?

My stuff is from a 55k '04 Tahoe.. Talked to the harness guru today, looks like I will be selling the PCM, as well as the TB.. I also have a throttle pedal and the box for it, but not the small wiring harness between the 2 (Which he tells me is available seperately)

So, I'm now looking for a PCM & TB from a '00-'02, and possibly o2 sensors from the same year.
