I want better brakes for my truck, meaning, I am happy with its stopping ability right now, But I am Tired of Warped Brake Rotors..., I downshift a lot to save my brakes a bit, but my transmission does not like it,I know Going to bigger rotors is going to mean me going to bigger rims, I have money for one upgrade, not both.....(Trying To save up all I can For A STS Turbo! ) Any Suggestions Would be helpfull!
( other than me changing the way i drive )

Thought about running some brake ducts to cool the rotors? It wouldn't hurt. Another option is to buy the rotors that are cross-drilled. It sounds like you are running full metallic pads if you are warping the rotors. You may need to go to a semi-metallic pad instead so you put heat into the pad instead of only the rotor. Once you warp the rotor you can turn them but they will be screwed up forever. One last piece of advice....if you have rear disc brakes, DO NOT apply the parking brake after driving in stop and go traffic. What happens is the brake rotor is hot, you lock the pads down on the rotor, the rest of the rotor cools down, the area clamped by the rotors stays hot for a very long time potentially leading to warpage.

Umm, the 99 up trucks use a disc/drum combo in the rear, with the parking brake being the drum and the main brakes being the disc. That drum won't warp the rotor will it?

I didn't realize the newer truck rear end used drums for the parking brake. That's definitely different than I ever imagined. It is a neat idea since you don't have the heat soak problem. I don't know if the drum brake applying pressure on a hot disc/rotor hat could cause warpage or not. That might be something to invesitigate.

earlier models such as the 99 to 2001 had problems with the springs in the parking brake and it would burn them up. as far as the rotors go. i always had problems with mine warping. and if you turn them they throw dust sdo bad it isnt funny. i went to EBC vented front rotors with stock gm pads. and on the rear i put on brembo premium replacements. i havent had an issue since.

Not all NBS have rear Drum, some of the more loaded LT2's & 3's have 4 wheel disc as do the specialty SS, Denali etc. My Truck is a LT1 Texas/Oklahoma package, I think all of these have rear drum for added braking when pulling a trailer.
