well i dont know about some of yall but a 15 minute drive took me 45minutes to an hour. The roads today are OUTRAGEOUS

so i figured i would help some of you out on icey weather driving

rule 1: if you can stay at home DO IT, theres no reason to take a chance.

rule 2: for crying out loud SLOW DOWN, i seriously dont know how many people i saw pass me on the way to work and then 2 miles down the road see them in the ditch

rule 3: if you start to slide let off the gas and stear INTO the skid

    and the most importamt rule

rule 4: STAY AWAY FROM ME, i dont know how many times i had people pass me almost swing their ass end into my truck...

i was doing 30, and an 18 wheeler decided to pass me... well... he is doing 40-45 or so and changes lanes.... but the trailer doesnt.... so i see the cab in my sideview mirror and i can see the trailer in the rearview. NOT a fun feeling... well it swings over and he gets past me ok, but then going back down the highway, he changes lanes again.... but this time his cab was faciing the guardrail and the trailer was across the other 2 lanes. he goes back and fourth trailer on way cab another... so he finally caught it and got both straight, and needless to say he slowed down to about 30 or so

SLOW down people, being late to where ever your going is much more worth ending up in a ditch or in a wreck which will cost much more

and STAY AWAY FROM ME WHILE IM DRIVING

hey welcome aboard man good to see you over here on this site..... where abouts do you live i live almost at 30 and 635 on the garland side...

and i could literally BARELY touch the throttle... as in, just breaking the plane of putting any gas in, and the ass end would start to come out on my truck....

Took me an hour to get to work but it normally takes about an hour due to traffic congestion. You forgot tip 6, don't come to a complete stop at the bottom of a hill and expect to make it up the hill without fish-tailing all over the place. I had an old man pull out in front of me in a Mercedes and try to pull a hill at 5 MPH. It just doesnt work. He was all over the road! The sad part was that I had to follow him at that rediculously slow speed. No 7... when approaching a bridge, slow your roll, if one sneaks up out of the blue do not step on the brakes just pop it in neutral and roll smoothly across it. If you let off the gas your braking hp may cause you to slide out of control.

i turned on my tow haul when i wanted to slow down... used the engine to brake for me and slow me down without losing much traction

I just got back from Allen's, left at 8:30 this morning and got back at 1:00. Not too bad, but I got complacent and the LAST overpass got me. Future wife and 7 year old son with me, and they didn't even notice it was so slight. But it made my stomach drop and a quick sweat!!! After 4+ hours of driving, I let my guard down.

    Be careful.

So no reports on HP since you could't even get on it huh??

Should have seen the 18 wheeler that left the road, hit a pickup with a 5th wheeler, went throught the drainage ditch, up the overpass embankment, hit 2 trees and a sign post and got to the the edge of the overpass ashpalt and then slid down. The ditch was low enough the trailer was split open in the middle. Happened before 8 am and was still being pulled out at 5 that afternoon. And all that was due to rain.
