The 5.3 and 4.8 are the same block and bore. The 5.3s get bored to 5.7L all the time if the block doesn't have "core shift". 3.908 is the LS1 overbore size or +.010" oversize. So, you can swap the 4.8L crank out for a 5.3/5.7/6.0 crank rods and pistons with machine work to the bores. You leave the stock 4.8L crank in there and have a high revving engine, also, with big 3.898/3.908 pistons. I think I'd do the 5.7L out of it.![]()
