All of the Gen III GM engines have this annoying tick at some point. Its refered to as CSK, or cold start knock. Not much you can do to get it to go away, just have live with it really.

yea I have heard those, just never have heard one quite this loud....could be a big problem im not sure, i just know that it is coming directly from the passenger side valve cover.

thanks for your info......i havent drove the truck much since the install so maybe it will go away with some driving
