I am fixing to get my cam put in and i want to put the TCI 3000 in, but i would like to have step by step instructions, so i won't miss a step.
Anyone know where to find some instructions?

I used a haynes manual from the auto parts store, fill tc before install,remove three bolts( tc to flexplate) 8 bolts around tranny, all elec. connections,exh. , driveshaft, and crossmember and a tranny jack helps alot . good luck

Make sure the TC is as far on the shaft as possible and then some..... when you butt the tranny up to the engine you should have to pull the TC forward to the flex plate. just my![]()
Search the internet. There are quite a few guides for transmission removal and installations.

Make sure you get a quart of tranny fluid into the new converter before you install it. Lube the converter shaft before you install it. Use blue locktite on the converter bolts.

AAAAman. Very important! When I was 16, building me first hotrod, I didn'd have my TQ all the way on the input-shaft. As I was tighting the bell-housing bolts sucking it up to the back of the engine I ended up breaking a big piece of of the bell-housing. On the old Turbo 350's the TQ would go on the input shaft two clicks as you rotated it back and forth.

To be sure you have the convertor in all the way before installing the transmission, measure the distance from the face of the flywheel/flexplate to the engine block and then measure the distance from the bellhousing to the convertor bolts. The transmission measurement should be greater by at least 1/8".

On a 4L60E the TC will go back 3 "clicks" and it should sit back about 1/2-3/4 from the front of the TC to the front of the bell housing. Also there are 3 TC bolts, and 2 different types Alan heads, or 15 mm. If you have the Alan heads, replace them with 15 mm
