Thread: fans on manual switch

I plan on getting e-fans in the VERY near future, and I have a couple questions. I'll be using the Nelson Perf. harness. Can I run a manual switch as well? I'd like to be able to leave the fans on, so it could cool things down between runs at the track or elsewhere. Have any of you done this?

If you look on this site you will see a quite extensive post on the fan things , diagrams and all .
Hook into a relay , high or low and switch it .

Now what is a tune again?

hopefully this at least gets u headed in the right direction. im sure u could ask the guy how it ran the switches, as he ran a manual ON switch, and a manual OFF switch. just one of many posts about efans, but the only one i found concerning switches like that.

me too, haha. i know a guy who has efans in his tbss and he just used the ls1 fans, and i think his is PCM controlled all the way. id like a switch for each ON and OFF. i think u could go one better and get a 3 post switch and then just use 1 switch for all functions.

It is very simple. Get a toggle switch, run one lead to ground, run the other lead to the PCM lead that turns the fans on. I have two toggles, one for low speed fans and one for high speed. Very simplistic. I don't know what color wires they are on your loom but mine are green and blue in the LS1 harness. Whichever leads trigger the relays "on" in your fan control can be tee'd into to provide switching.

That sounds easy enough. I need to find a place to mount all these switches. I already have one for the cutout, 2 for nitrous, and now this.

Where'd you guys get your fans? I have the 34" radiator, if it matters.

Thanks again!

I have one switch with three positions. Middle is PCM controled, up is high, down is low. I even added a LED that indicates when the fans are on.
