I hear you. I know some of us could build it for a lot less. Those top name builders get a premium price for their labor. Joe Schmoe at the corner garage can do the labor a lot cheaper and may be able to do the same quality of work but it would not have the same reputation as a Saleen, JG or other top builder. Their reputations and work quality gets the big paydays. I'm still not too sure JG is even a top builder. AFAIK he is just a name, a football coach that owns a NASCAR team. Who was he before NASCAR in the auto world, a nobody?

yeah i agree, id be willing to say that if nelson performance did a custom series itd sell better and be more bang for the buck than anything JG could spit out. Gibbs is just a name and no matter how bad he wants to be a somebody in the auto world, i bet ur ass he prob doesnt know half the stuff most guys on here know and even if so he's not building the truck(duh), he's paying people to build them with his name on them. thats one thing i respect about Chip Foose, is that he helps build almost every single vehicle his name is on(if not everything) except maybe his tahoe conversions.

Remember that the JG truck is sold at a Chevrolet Dealership with warrenty. That means they have to meet Chevrolet rules and can only put certain parts in the engine. That also goes for those regency conversions that you see. Notice no one has a 6.0L unless it came as a VHO or VortecMaxx?

Even Foose is becoming a sell-out. He has a 69 Camaro and Mustang with his sig on them. They are built here in Farmers Branch. He approved the styling, now they make them and sell them as a Foose model. I don't even think he signs them in person, the parts are shipped to him, he signs them, and then ships them back to be installed on the cars.
See my truck data in the "My Garage" section here... http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/my-ga...tml#post191709

to an extent ud have to sell out if u wanted to market any amount of products, but the thing is i highly doubt JG made any of these trucks. he prob hired a designer to come up with the bumper cover and just contracted out for the lowest supercharger bidder. foose does alot better than some people Coddington and Foose r becoming more and more similar(as they should since Foose ran Coddington for a while). its just like hennessy and lingenfelter(before john died even) there has to be a core of people doing the work, cuz its just not feasable to have 1 person doing it all. At least Foose does some fabbing and stuff JG has never shown me anything except that its a brand name, hes no custom fabricater.

Joe Gibbs no longer runs the motorsports part of his company. It is run by his son now. Has been for a while.
