Engine and tranny are in, its out of a 95 camaro, with a 6 speed. Using the 5 speed that came with the truck which is a 4x4. Most of the stuff looks straightforward but im a little worried about the VSS. What does the VSS connector look like on the camaro harness? Do i just connect it to the tranny? Is my speed sensor the 40 pulse one that i need? Not using the ac, getting the pcm reprogrammed to kill the vats. What are the snags im going to run into? Can i just wire my stock gauges to the temperature sensor wire, and oil pressure wire in the harness, or just go direct from the gauge to the sensor, are they compatible? I am using the 5 speed (nv3500 i think) that came stock in the truck, with a centerforce, is it possible to make a t56 work with the transfer case?(a bit of an after thought) Thanks in advance!

anyone know if the camaro rad hoses are tapered? Bigger on the rad side, then the water pump side?

The lower hose on the water pump picks up coolant from the lower side of the radiator and the upper hose returns coolant to the top of the radiator..... nothing different than a Gen 1 small block. The molded hoses I used on this swap were from a 95 Corvette, just shortened up a bit to fit my Camaro.

Thanks for your reply. Im assuming your rad has provisions for these? Im using the stock rad from my pickup truck, can i just block off these passages at the water pump. And theres 3 outlets on the water pump....

My mistake, for some reason I thought you were talking about the coolant hoses not the heater hoses. On the passenger side of the water pump, connect your heater hoses to your heater core, small one is pressure, large one is return. The third one on the drivers side could be for the optional oil cooler, you can block that one off. It's been quite a while since I did my Camaro swap and can't remember if I had that one., I'll look at it when I get home tonight. One other thing that I did not mention is that you will also have to re-route the steam line (goes through the throttle body, but most people bypass that for performance). Your radiator most likely does not have a fitting for this. A couple of ways you can do this are; putting a t-fitting in your radiator or heater hose, or drill and tap a fitting into your water pump. But whatever you, do not just plug this line or you will have overheating issues. I did the drill and tap deal, you can just see the brass fitting in the pic I posted above.....

As for the oil cooler outlet/inlet. Where is the other one? Obviously there needs to be two.... I have an adapter plate for oil cooler lines on my old motor, ill probably use that, since it will fit my rad etc.

I really dont think the outlet/inlet on the water pump on the drivers side is for oil. Anyone know what its for?
