    What I think they meant to say is that HPT is HPTuners software, the most popular PCM tuning software on the market today.

    so your saying if i was to put my lq4 infront of my 700r all i would have to do is buy the 'verter lockup kit and the pcm will control my shift points and all???

    Isn't a 700r4 shifted old school, not electronically? I thought that the only electronics was the lockup convertor. My buddy's 700r4 has it's shift points regulated by a cable that connects to the throttle body.

    RedHeartbeat is correct, the 700r4 is controlled by fluid pressure, not electronically. All you need for that tranny is a torque convertor lockup kit, which if you go to Painless Tech section, they have a nice diagram of what wire goes where, and all you need to buy is a vacuum servo to install in the bottom instead of the electric one (which controls the TC lockup...not shift points)

    Oh it&#39;s possible&#33;&#33; I just don&#39;t know of any...i dealt with all 700r4&#39;s from 1987 and older....

    If you get an &#39;02 PCM to use with HPT, you will have to use an &#39;02 OS and therefore have to use an &#39;02 VIN. If its a swap engine into an older truck why worry about keeping the &#39;00 VIN anyways?
