So i'm running a 700r4 because i've got one, and don't have cash to buy a newer 4L60E, can i trick the computer into thinking all is well with the 4L60E connectors? Or re-tune the computer to think that they are there when they're really not?

That's what I'll be trying to figure out. Hadn't worried much about the lockup since I'm getting just under 19mpg w/o a working lockup & 4.10s @ 70 - 75mph (recently noted on a 90 mile drive from BR to NO). :flipoff: FTW!!!

In order to prevent a butt load of check engine codes from the PCM, you'll need to flash your computer with a manual trans program.

Engine codes? What engine codes? I have HPT. Don't need no stinkin' codes!

But I was replying to Chuck (you remember, the guy that started this thread with the T-700?)
Apparently he does not have HPT..... perhaps you could hook him up?

Other wise Chuck, check out Nelson Performance (site sponsor) and he'll be able to fix you up.

What is HPT? What kwkenuf is referring to is a package that will allow you to make configuration changes to the engine's computer (as if you were a GM engineer yourself). There's a bunch of stock settings that you may want to have changed before being able to run your rig full-time. As kwkenuf said, Nelson Performance is a site sponsor, and is reasonably priced too.

As for me "hooking up" Chuck, need to buy some licenses. My HPT is VIN specific. I may be purchasing extra soon b/c I want to ditch the '00 PCM. Hey... could I get an '02 PCM, still have it flashed to '00 VIN, and enjoy the benefits of having '02 capabilities? Or do I need to flash an '02 VIN on an '02 PCM to fully enjoy that?

What I think they meant to say is that HPT is HPTuners software, the most popular PCM tuning software on the market today.
