Thread: More header stuff...

    OK, Pacesetters are backordered a couple of weeks. Not a big deal. I found another company though that has been making headers since 1968. The website is www.ssheaders.com (the 'SS' stands for street and strip). Anyway, they do a Thorley type header that bolts directly up to the factory Y-pipe, so you can keep your cats and they have pretty good prices ($331.00). They get them coated through Jet Hot ($210). So a couple of questions:

    1.) Is there another option for coating that may be cheaper than the $210 they quoted me, and
    2.) Has anyone heard of this company or used them?

    He has a set in stock but I'm trying to exercise some patience here and do a little more investigating. I haven't seen photos of them (none on the website) but they sound like good quality headers. They do the Tri-Y collectors and use 16 gauge steel.

    Don't bother posting about "I wouldn't buy from someone who doesn't show photos of their stuff', etc. I know. That makes me leery too, but they've been around for a while, so they have to be doing something right. I asked them to at least email some pictures of the headers.

    Anyway, in the meantime, what are everyones thoughts?

    anything is better than stock manifolds.. and they're cheap.

    you can always pawn them off on some newb when you're ready for some dynatechs.

    Dynatech headers will bolt on IF you get the high flow cats with. Look Here and you will see they bolt up where a cat back system bolts up to. No Welding..........

    dynatechs seem the be the easiest way to get a fully assembled lt, including the custom y-pipe with cats built in. just be ready to pay a hefty price.

    Exactly. Sorry but I&#39;m not paying &#036;1400 for headers. BlueCajun is making awesome times with his Pacesetters, so the price increase of the Dynatechs isn&#39;t justified in my opinion.

    i was actually kidding.. i&#39;d never pay that price myself. i&#39;m going with pacesetters soon enough. i&#39;ve heard excellent performance gains and about three quarters of the price of dynatechs.

    I used to run S&S headers on my VWs. They&#39;re decent quality. The most expensive part of the header is the coating for some odd reason.

    Yes. I asked him what these would be considered (shorties, mids or LT&#39;s) and he said LT&#39;s. I&#39;m still waiting for pictures of them.
